Edinburgh, Scotland – In a harrowing case that shook the Highlands and Argyll and Bute areas, Alastair Nicolson, 55, has been sentenced to 14 years in prison for his violent and sexual offenses against three women and a child. The verdict, delivered at the High Court in Edinburgh, also included placing Nicolson on the sex offenders register indefinitely. The crimes, spanning from January 1991 to April 2001, involved disturbing acts of rape, physical assault, and intimidation.

During the trial at the High Court in Inverness, Nicolson was found guilty of raping a child and perpetrating abusive actions towards the victims.
