Murder-Suicide by Gun: Indian-Origin Millionare Kills Wife and Daughter in US Mansion

DOVER, Massachusetts – Autopsy results have confirmed that the deaths of Rakesh Kamal, his wife Teena Kamal, and their daughter Arianna Kamal last week have been ruled a murder-suicide by medical authorities.

The wealthy Indian-origin family was found dead in their USD 5 million mansion in Dover, Massachusetts on December 28, 2023. The autopsy results indicated that Teena and her daughter Arianna were victims of homicide by gunshot, while Rakesh died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

While full forensic and ballistics testing of the gun has not been finalized, the firearm found with Rakesh is consistent with a .40 calibre Glock 22. However, the firearm was not registered in Rakesh’s name and he was not licensed to possess it.

The incident remains under investigation by Dover and Massachusetts State Police, who have contacted the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives for assistance in determining the origin of the firearm.

The family’s mansion, estimated to be worth USD 5.45 million, went into foreclosure a year ago and was sold for USD 3 million. The Kamals had faced financial problems in recent years, as evidenced by Teena filing for Chapter 13 bankruptcy in September 2022.

Rakesh, Teena, and Arianna left behind a legacy of entrepreneurship and academic achievement, with the couple being involved in the education systems field and Arianna studying neuroscience at Middlebury College. The community of Dover, known for being a small, well-run and safe neighborhood, was shocked by the rare occurrence of such a violent situation in their midst.
