Murder Charge Filed in Fatal Shooting Following Altercation in Rock Hill

Rock Hill, South Carolina – A tragic incident unfolded in Rock Hill, South Carolina, leading to the death of a woman and the arrest of her girlfriend on murder charges. The Rock Hill Police Department reported that the altercation took place on Wednesday at Riverwalk Parkway near Cel-River Road.

According to the authorities, the confrontation arose between 39-year-old Samarian Lindsay and her male co-worker. Lindsay entered her girlfriend’s car while the co-worker attempted to drive away. Brittney Reed, 32, reportedly blocked the man’s vehicle, anticipating that it might escalate to a dangerous situation.

Lindsay brandished a firearm as she approached the man’s car, prompting him to defend himself by firing shots that tragically struck Lindsay multiple times in the chest. Reed, in a fit of distress, physically assaulted the man after the shooting took place.

Following the altercation, Lindsay was rushed to Piedmont Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries. The police investigation concluded that the man acted in self-defense, leading to him not facing any charges related to the incident.

Meanwhile, Reed was taken into custody and charged with murder and assault and battery. Authorities recovered two firearms at the scene, further complicating the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
