Murder Charge Filed Against Jordon Shawn Moore in Fatal Shooting of Soccer Coach Near Angle Lake

Seatac, Wash. — A man has been charged with first-degree murder following the shooting death of a 35-year-old father and soccer coach, Adam Lovejoy, in a late November incident near Angle Lake. Jordon Shawn Moore, 29, was taken into custody and is currently detained on a $2 million bail.

According to prosecutors, Moore allegedly fired nine rounds during a confrontation with Lovejoy on Nov. 24, demonstrating a previously established intent to kill. Authorities responded to reports of gunfire and discovered Lovejoy lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds.

Witnesses reported that Moore confronted Lovejoy during a first date with his ex-girlfriend. In a tense exchange that escalated quickly, it is alleged Moore blocked the couple’s vehicle and opened fire. Prosecutors claim he fired six shots at Lovejoy, who was down and incapacitated, and then waited several seconds before discharging additional rounds.

Court documents indicate that prior to the incident, Moore sent threatening messages to his ex-girlfriend. Investigators have stated that both men were armed during the confrontation. In the altercation, Moore reportedly shot Lovejoy multiple times and inadvertently shot himself in the foot.

Moore’s defense attorney argues the actions were taken in self-defense, placing the burden of proof on the prosecution to demonstrate otherwise. As the legal proceedings unfold, Moore’s next court appearance is scheduled for Dec. 8.

Family and friends of Lovejoy have come forward to share memories, portraying him as a kind-hearted individual and a dedicated youth soccer coach admired for his positive influence on young athletes. His death has left a profound impact on the local community, emphasizing the tragedy of gun violence.

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to piece together the circumstances leading to this devastating event.
