MAYS LANDING, NJ – A Mays Landing man faced a sentence of four years in New Jersey State Prison after admitting guilt to third-degree aggravated assault in connection with a violent domestic incident at an Absecon hotel.
The incident took place on March 23, 2024, when the Absecon Police Department responded to a disturbance at the Travelodge on Absecon Boulevard. Upon arrival, authorities discovered a victim in the hotel lobby with severe facial injuries, including missing teeth.
Investigations revealed that the victim had engaged in a dispute with LaQuay Taylor, her boyfriend, inside their hotel room before the situation intensified. In an attempt to escape, the victim was pursued by Taylor down the hallway and assaulted multiple times with a closed fist.
