Man Fatally Shot Outside QuikTrip in Tulsa Incident

TULSA, OKLAHOMA – A tragic incident unfolded at a QuikTrip near 11th Street and Garnett Road, resulting in the death of a young man after a shooting, as reported by Tulsa Police.

According to detectives, a dispute between the victim and the suspect escalated inside a car in the parking lot. The altercation took a deadly turn when both individuals fell out of the vehicle, leading to the suspect fatally shooting the victim before fleeing the scene.

Upon police arrival, they found the victim identified as 22-year-old Anthony Banuelos with gunshot wounds. Despite being rushed to a hospital, Banuelos succumbed to his injuries.

The suspect initially fled but later surrendered to authorities. Following questioning, the individual was released pending further investigation.

Homicide detectives diligently conducted interviews with witnesses, pored over surveillance footage from the gas station, and gathered crucial evidence from the scene. Notably, the entire incident was captured on security cameras, aiding in the investigation.

Sergeant Wyett Poth of the Tulsa Police reassured the public by stating, “There is no further threat to the public,” emphasizing the apprehension of the shooter. While the suspect remains unnamed as charges have not been filed yet, law enforcement remains steadfast in their pursuit of justice.
