LYNCHBURG, Va. – The trial of the man accused of killing 19-year-old Ma’Kayvia Cabell in Lynchburg began with emotionally charged testimony on Monday. After a meticulous selection process, the Lynchburg Senior Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney called witnesses to unravel the details surrounding Cabell’s tragic death.
Cabell was found lifeless nearly a year ago in a home on Locust Street, having suffered multiple gunshot wounds. 22-year-old Keon Palmer, the prime suspect, surrendered himself after a brief manhunt and now faces charges of first-degree murder and firearm possession in connection to Cabell’s untimely demise.
Testimonies revealed a troubled relationship between Cabell and Palmer, with messages on social media indicating escalating tensions leading up to the fatal encounter.
