Indicted Fall River Men Face Charges in Unsolved Diamonte Odom Homicide

FALL RIVER, Mass. – Four men from Fall River have been indicted in connection with the unsolved May 13, 2023, homicide of 23-year-old Diamonte Odom, according to Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III.

The indictments are the result of a long-term grand jury investigation led by Assistant District Attorney Tara Burdman and supported by Massachusetts State Police detectives and Fall River Police detectives. The lead investigators were Fall River Police Detective Luis Vertentes and Massachusetts State Police Detective Robert Twitchell.

Tajon Saxon, 26, has been indicted on charges of Murder, Carrying a Loaded Illegal Firearm, and Carrying an Illegal Firearm. Saxon remains at large and is the subject of an intensive manhunt. He is also wanted in connection with a May 2021 Fall River double-homicide.

Quanif Johnson, 26, was indicted on Murder and weapons charges. In addition, he faces charges related to drug trafficking and possession of firearms. Johnson is currently in custody in Rhode Island on charges connected to another homicide case in that state.

Dioni Tavarez-Leonirio, 25, was indicted on a charge of Accessory to Murder-After the Fact and was arraigned with bail set at $5,000 cash. Devin Alves, 18, was indicted on charges related to drug trafficking and unlawful possession of ammunition.

Odom was found with a gunshot wound to his face on May 13, 2023, and was pronounced deceased at Rhode Island Hospital. Due to the fact that the two defendants indicted for murder have yet to be arraigned in open court, no other details were released.
