Houston Police believe shooter in Westchase murder-suicide was resident of the complex

Houston, Texas – Houston police are investigating a murder-suicide that took place at the Westchase Forest Apartments in the 11300 block of Richmond Avenue. According to authorities, the shooter, believed to be a resident of the complex, entered the leasing office and shot a female and male employee before turning the gun on himself. The male victim is in the hospital and is expected to survive.

The property management company, Tam Residential, released a statement expressing their sadness over the incident and stating that they are working closely with the Houston Police Department as they continue their investigation.

The female victim, identified as Lisa Blackburn, was a beloved wife, mother of two, grandmother of four, and a breast cancer survivor. She worked as an apartment manager for 30 years and was known for her dedication and generosity towards the residents, especially the children. Her tragic death has left her family and community in shock.

Members of the Tutu Live Mardi Gras Krewe also expressed their grief over Blackburn’s passing, describing her as someone with an “infectious smile and vibrant personality.” The Krewe had planned to honor her during their final Mardi Gras parade of the season.

As the investigation into this heartbreaking tragedy continues, the community is left mourning the loss of Lisa Blackburn, a woman known for her compassion and dedication to those around her.
