Collier County deputies are investigating after two people were found dead.
NORTH NAPLES, Fla. — A father was hospitalized and two people were found dead after a shooting Wednesday night inside the Vineyards community, Collier County deputies said.
The Collier County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called to Avellino Isles Circle shortly after 7:20 p.m. June 10. Authorities said the father reported to 911 that his son had shot his wife and then himself. Deputies arrived with fire and EMS crews and began a death investigation.
Officials have not released the identities of the dead or the surviving man. They also have not released ages, relationships beyond the 911 account, or the type of firearm believed to have been used. The sheriff’s office has not said whether investigators found a note or any other evidence explaining the shooting.
The response centered on Avellino Isles Circle, a residential street in the Vineyards area of North Naples. Deputies remained at the scene as investigators gathered evidence, interviewed witnesses and worked to confirm the sequence of events inside the home.
The case appears to be domestic in nature based on the emergency call described by deputies, but authorities have not released a final finding. The medical examiner’s office is expected to help determine the official causes and manners of death.
No public court hearing had been scheduled as of Friday because no charges had been announced. The sheriff’s office said the investigation remained active, with additional information expected after relatives are notified and reports are completed.
