Fatal Shooting at Chula Vista Apartment Complex Leaves One Dead, Another Injured

CHULA VISTA, Calif. – Authorities are currently investigating a tragic incident that occurred at a Chula Vista apartment complex, resulting in the death of one individual and leaving another wounded early Wednesday morning.

Chula Vista Police have confirmed that a distressing event unfolded at the Salerno Luxury Rental Apartments in the Otay Ranch area just after 1:30 a.m. Police were alerted by a female caller residing in the 1300 block of Calle Verona, reporting that her friend had been shot and was in dire need of help.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered an unresponsive man outside the apartment with a gunshot wound to his head. Tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Another victim, a 24-year-old man, was found with a gunshot wound to his face. Despite his injuries, he remained conscious and was swiftly transported to the hospital for medical attention.
