Electronic Warfare Complex Destroyed by Ukrainian SSO in Dramatic Explosion: Footage Reveals Strike and Russian Radio Interception

KYIV, Ukraine – The Special Operations Forces (SSO) recently announced a successful mission in which they destroyed the Zhitel Russian electronic warfare complex in the Zaporizhzhya region. The operation was carried out after SSO operators detected the complex using reconnaissance unmanned aircraft.

The SSO fighters were able to relay the coordinates of the Zhitel complex to an artillery unit of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, which then carried out a precision strike on the target. The dramatic footage of the operation, shared via Telegram, captured the moment of the explosive destruction of the Russian complex.

The Zhitel complex, typically manned by a crew of four, is designed for automated detection, direction finding, and analysis of radio signals within a specific frequency range. This complex poses challenges to GPS and mobile users, as reported by military analysts.

Previous reports have indicated that Russian troops have been using the R-330Zh Zhitel station since 2014 in the Donbas region. Ukrainian forces have successfully eliminated several of these stations during combat operations, including the destruction of the first Zhitel wreckage during battles in Kyiv.

In addition to the destruction of the Zhitel station, the SSO fighters also shared footage of their operations on the southern operational front. The video showcased the use of FPV drones to target enemy vehicles and personnel, resulting in significant losses for the Russian troops.

The SSO had previously reported the successful destruction of the Russian Zoopark-1 surveillance and fire control radar complex, another valuable asset of the Russian military. The radar station, along with its crew, was successfully eliminated in a separate operation. The estimated cost of the Zoopark-1 complex is reported to be around $10-15 million.
