APOPKA, Fla. — A woman in her 50s died after a shooting Monday evening in Apopka, prompting an active homicide investigation by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies said the shooting occurred shortly after 5:30 p.m. in the 1300 block of South Central Avenue.
Emergency responders rushed the woman to a hospital after deputies arrived at the scene, but officials said she later died from her injuries.
