Orlando, Florida — A 23-year-old man with a history of violent offenses was apprehended after spending two months eluding law enforcement. Jacoby Tillman was arrested on serious charges including rape and attempted murder following an attack on a woman in July. Remarkably, he secured his release from jail within two days after posting a $9,500 bond, raising concerns among local authorities.
According to authorities, Tillman targeted a woman from behind while she was jogging on the Little Econ Greenway trail around 8:20 a.m. on July 25. Reports indicate that Tillman choked the victim until she lost consciousness. After she regained her senses, she discovered her clothing had been removed and immediately sought help from nearby individuals.
In court proceedings, Judge Vincent Chiu reversed an earlier ruling that allowed Tillman to be released, agreeing with prosecutors who argued that essential details were overlooked. Following an arraignment hearing, Tillman was expected to be transferred back to custody. Prosecutors later raised the charges against him to include attempted murder and alleged that he had violated a no-contact order by posting messages about a witness on social media platforms.
