Athens, Georgia – A tragic incident unfolded in Athens, Georgia, on Friday night, resulting in the death of a child and injuries to two others. According to Athens-Clarke County police, the authorities responded to a shooting at the Hallmark Mobile Home Park on Spring Valley Road after receiving reports of gun violence just after 5:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered two children had been shot, with one child succumbing to their injuries. An adult was also injured during the shooting but is expected to recover from non-life-threatening injuries.
The child who tragically lost their life in the incident has been identified as 3-year-old Kyron Zarco, known affectionately as “Baby Dro”. Following the shooting, law enforcement apprehended 17-year-old Julian Cubillos from Lawrenceville, who now faces charges including malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, and violation of the Georgia Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act. Cubillos is currently held at the Clarke County Jail, with warrants issued for 16-year-old Jayden Brown and 18-year-old Dakious Echols, who will face similar charges once apprehended.
