Capital Murder Suspect Arrested After Fatal Shooting in Tuscaloosa’s Holt Community

Tuscaloosa, Alabama – A tragic incident unfolded in the early hours of Sunday in the Holt community, where a man lost his life in a fatal shooting inside his own residence in front of his young daughter. The victim, identified as Jakeria Rashaad May, 35 years old, was shot multiple times during an altercation at his home in the 4600 Block of Virginia Drive in Tuscaloosa’s Holt neighborhood.

According to Captain Jack Kennedy, head of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, the authorities received a report about the shooting around 1:45 am on Sunday. Despite being rushed to DCH Regional Medical Center, May did not survive his injuries. Following the investigation, the VCU pinpointed 30-year-old Terrelle Devonte Williams as a suspect in the case.

Williams was subsequently apprehended by local police and federal US Marshals on Sunday. He now faces a charge of capital murder and is being held without bond.
