Bridge City Man Tyler D. Lewis Wanted for Murder in SWLA Drive-By Shooting Incident

Bridge City, Texas – A man is currently wanted for murder in connection with a drive-by shooting that tragically resulted in the death of a woman inside a home in Southwest Louisiana. The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office is seeking Tyler D. Lewis, 25, of Bridge City, as a principal to 2nd degree murder, with a judge setting bond at $1 million.

The incident occurred on Saturday, March 2, around 7:45 p.m., when authorities responded to a shooting at a residence on West Tank Farm Road in Calcasieu Parish. During the investigation, it was revealed that a drive-by shooting took place in the area, with multiple rounds fired that ultimately struck and killed a woman inside the home, identified as Annette D. Touvell, 65, of Lake Charles.

Authorities were able to identify a suspect vehicle and determined that multiple individuals were inside the car at the time of the shooting. Further investigation led to the arrest of several individuals, including a 17-year-old juvenile who had stolen a family member’s car and used it during the shooting. Additionally, Chelsea R. Hyatt, 36, of Sulphur, was arrested for failing to report her daughter’s involvement in the incident.

Detectives identified all four suspects in the vehicle, including two 17-year-old juveniles, Jordan L. Jones, 18, of Lake Charles, and Tyler D. Lewis, 25, of Bridge City. While Hyatt and Jones were booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center, the two juveniles were placed in the Juvenile Detention Center. A warrant has been issued for Lewis’ arrest for his alleged involvement in the murder.

In a separate development, a narcotics investigation stemming from the initial incident resulted in the arrest of individuals in possession of THC vape oil, drug paraphernalia, and other illegal substances. Among those arrested were Briley A. Lewis, 18, of DeQuincy, Payton B. Mott, 19, and Andrew B. Norwood, 21, both from Sulphur.
