Boyfriend shot dead in Tampa by girlfriend who then commits suicide in Alabama

TAMPA, FLORIDA – A tragic incident unfolded in Tampa, Florida, where a woman fatally shot her boyfriend before taking her own life in Alabama, according to authorities. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Kelbys Avila, 50, deceased from a gunshot wound, leading detectives to determine that his girlfriend, Maira Pacheco Nuñez, 58, was the perpetrator before fleeing in a vehicle. A warrant was swiftly issued for Pacheco Nuñez’s arrest on a second-degree murder with a firearm charge, prompting deputies in Baldwin County, Alabama, to identify her vehicle shortly thereafter.
