Bar Shooting Horror Leads Police to Dead Children at Home

Investigators say the overnight violence began outside a Glendale bar before officers discovered three bodies at a Phoenix home.

GLENDALE, Ariz. — Arizona investigators are piecing together a deadly chain of events after police said a mother opened fire outside a Glendale sports bar and later returned to a Phoenix home where she and her two children were found dead Monday morning.

Authorities said the investigation now stretches across Glendale and Phoenix as detectives review surveillance footage, witness accounts and digital evidence connected to the shootings. Police identified the mother as Andrea Clarice Davis, 38. Her two children, identified by investigators as a 10-year-old boy and an 18-month-old girl, were found dead inside the family residence. The case also left a 36-year-old woman critically injured after a shooting outside a sports bar where the children’s father was present. Officials said the surviving victim is expected to recover.

Police said the first emergency calls came in shortly after midnight from Tailgaters Sports Bar & Grill in Glendale. Witnesses told officers they heard multiple gunshots in the parking lot and saw people running from the area. Investigators later said Andrea Davis allegedly confronted her husband, Nolan Davis, while he was with another woman outside the bar. During the confrontation, the woman was shot while trying to enter a vehicle and escape. Officers arriving at the scene immediately secured the parking lot and began emergency treatment until paramedics arrived. Glendale police spokesperson Jose Santiago said the evidence gathered so far indicates the shooting was intentional and linked to a personal dispute.

While officers were still working at the bar scene, investigators said Nolan Davis received alarming text messages from his wife. Police said one message included a threat involving the children, along with a photograph that caused officers to fear immediate danger inside the family’s Phoenix home. Officers from Phoenix police were sent to the residence while Glendale investigators remained at the original crime scene. Authorities said officers attempted to contact anyone inside the house before eventually forcing entry. Inside, they found Andrea Davis and both children dead from apparent gunshot wounds. Police have not said whether the children died before officers arrived at the home or moments earlier. Detectives also have not publicly disclosed whether multiple firearms were recovered.

The shootings sent shock waves through neighborhoods in both Glendale and Phoenix. Residents near the home said police vehicles filled the street before sunrise and officers remained outside the property for much of the morning. Some neighbors described seeing investigators carrying evidence bags from the residence while crime scene technicians photographed the area. Local television stations later aired home surveillance video showing the children walking calmly with their father earlier in the evening, hours before the violence unfolded. Authorities have not released details about the family’s recent history or whether there had been previous reports of threats or domestic disturbances involving the couple.

Investigators said detectives are now focused on reconstructing the timeline between the parking lot shooting and the deaths inside the home. Officers are reviewing cellphone records, surveillance footage from nearby businesses and witness interviews collected overnight. Glendale and Phoenix police departments confirmed they are sharing evidence because the incidents are closely connected. Officials from the Maricopa County medical examiner’s office are expected to determine the official causes and manner of death following autopsies. Police also said victim advocates and crisis counselors have been made available to relatives and others affected by the case.

Outside the Glendale sports bar Monday afternoon, customers stopped to look at police tape and evidence markers still visible near the parking spaces where the shooting occurred. Employees at nearby businesses said the area is usually busy on weekend nights and described the violence as deeply unsettling. In Phoenix, neighbors left flowers and stuffed animals near the home as family members arrived throughout the day. One resident said the neighborhood had always been quiet and family-oriented. “It’s heartbreaking,” the resident said. “The children were so young, and now everyone is trying to understand how something this terrible happened.”

Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing and additional information could be released after forensic examinations and witness interviews are completed. Police have scheduled further updates as detectives continue reviewing evidence collected from both crime scenes.
