Gurgaon, India – A group of bikers faced a violent attack near the Kherki Daula toll plaza on Monday morning after an incident involving an overtake of a black Scorpio SUV. The confrontation took place around 7:30 am as 11 bikers were traveling from Ambience Mall to Manesar when they were intercepted and assaulted by four individuals reportedly upset by the overtake.
According to 27-year-old software developer Hardik Sharma, one of the bikers, the SUV was being driven recklessly and tried to disrupt the bikers’ balance. After a brief chase, the bikers decided to stop near the Dwarka Expressway to avoid escalating the situation. The men in the SUV then began verbally abusing the bikers and attempted to physically harm them by trying to remove their helmets and striking them.
Sharma mentioned that the incident was captured on a GoPro camera mounted on one of the bikes, showcasing the attackers physically assaulting the bikers. The footage revealed the aggressive behavior of the individuals, including threats, physical violence, and damage to property. Sharma himself sustained injuries to his thigh, hands, and wrist, with his Kawasaki Z900 motorcycle being vandalized with a baseball bat.
Despite seeking help from the authorities at the toll plaza, the group faced delays in filing a police report, with Sharma claiming that it took over six hours to determine the appropriate police station with jurisdiction to handle the case. Eventually, an FIR was registered at the Sector 37 police station under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
In response to the allegations of police inaction, law enforcement refuted any delays and assured the public that an investigation was underway. Police authorities stated that they have identified the suspects involved in the assault and vandalism and are working towards apprehending them soon. Additionally, the group provided GoPro footage and utilized a facial recognition app to track down the accused through their social media profiles, aiding in the investigative process.
