Atlanta Woman Recovering After Face Shot in Attempted Robbery

The woman was found at Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway after police said the injury may have happened several blocks away.

ATLANTA, Ga. — Atlanta police are investigating a Tuesday night shooting that left a woman injured after a suspected attempted robbery near Lindsay Street NW on the city’s west side.

The call came in at about 9:45 p.m. June 3, when officers were sent to 902 Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway NW for a person shot. Police found an adult woman with an apparent gunshot wound and said she was awake and breathing when help arrived.

Investigators believe the woman may have been shot during an attempted robbery near 584 Lindsay St. NW. She was later found at the Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway location and taken to a hospital by ambulance. Police did not say how far she traveled after the shooting or whether someone brought her there.

The Aggravated Assault Unit took over the investigation. Police said investigators were working to determine the circumstances around the shooting, including who fired the shot and what happened before the reported robbery attempt. No arrest had been announced, and officials had not released a suspect description.

The shooting was one of several violent incidents reported across Atlanta overnight, according to local reports and police updates.
