Assault Alert: Police Seek Suspect in Pasadena Sexual Attack

Pasadena, California – Authorities are on the lookout for a suspect linked to a violent sexual assault on a woman in Pasadena, California. The disturbing incident occurred outside a restaurant on Sierra Madre Villa Avenue, north of Foothill Boulevard, around 8:40 p.m. on Saturday.

According to Pasadena Police Department officials, the man forcibly entered the woman’s car, brandished a knife, and forced her to drive to another location where the assault took place. Fortunately, the woman managed to fight back and call 911 once the attacker fled the scene.

Described as a Black male in his 30s to 40s, standing approximately 6 feet tall with a heavy build, the suspect was last seen wearing a black face mask, a gray hooded rain jacket, light blue jeans, and black shoes, while armed with a folding knife. Additionally, he has a distinctive raspy voice and may be transient.

Residents, like Lynne Levin-Guzman, a nurse of 20 years, are expressing concern over the incident, highlighting the importance of remaining vigilant in seemingly safe neighborhoods like Pasadena. Authorities commend the victim for her strength and quick thinking during the harrowing ordeal.

The assault in Pasadena comes amidst a wave of violent attacks in Los Angeles, with two recent brutal sexual assaults near the Venice canals. In a separate case, Anthony Jones, 29, was arrested in San Diego for a similar attack and is facing charges of forcible rape and attempted murder.
