Arrested: Woman Appears in Court in Connection to Murder of Man in North Omaha

OMAHA, Neb. – A 31-year-old woman, Alyssa Roman, was brought before a judge on Wednesday after police discovered a disturbing murder scene in a north Omaha residence. Roman was formally charged with second-degree murder of 33-year-old Alan Critser, as well as the use of a firearm to commit a felony. She has been ordered to be held without bond, and her preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Feb. 14.

Critser was found dead on Friday evening in a home near 55th Plaza, off Mormon Bridge Road after Omaha Police officers responded to reports of a home invasion at a home on Hanover Circle. Witnesses told police that Roman had been forcibly removed from the home and ran off. Police reported seeing her through a window at the 55th Plaza address before she fled out the back door. Once officers caught up with her, she was taken to Immanuel Hospital after showing signs of “excited delirium,” reports state.

Roman allegedly told officers that Critser hadn’t shot himself, and that the two of them were the only two in the home when he was killed. Documents also noted that officers performing a sweep of the home found blood on the walls, a skull, a shotgun with clothing hanging on it, and tissue evidence.

Critser’s family members are devastated by the loss and are seeking justice for Alan. The investigation continues as authorities piece together the events that led to the tragic death of Alan Critser on that fateful Friday evening.
