Arrested: 10 Years After Brutal PA Home Invasion That Left Man Dead, Fiancée Raped, Suspect Faces Charges

HILLTOWN TOWNSHIP, Pa. – More than a decade after a violent home invasion that left a man dead and his fiancée raped, an arrest has been made in the case. Thomas Delgado, 50, has been identified as one of the individuals who broke into the home of Joseph Canazaro in 2013, according to the district attorney’s office. The home invasion resulted in the death of Canazaro and the sexual assault of his fiancée, as well as the robbery and burglary of their home.

The incident took place more than 10 years ago, but the case was not forgotten. “It would be wrong to call this a cold case,” District Attorney Jennifer Schorn said. “These detectives have spent more than a decade seeking justice for these victims.” Delgado has been arrested and charged with criminal homicide, rape, robbery, burglary, kidnapping, criminal conspiracy, and related charges. His arrest has brought a renewed sense of hope for justice to the victims’ families and loved ones.

During the home invasion, the assailants tied up Canazaro, his fiancée, and their juvenile son before ransacking the home and taking guns, money, jewelry, and other items. Tragically, Canazaro did not survive the attack, as he was found dead inside the garage with multiple stab wounds. The robbers also made off with Canazaro’s truck, but it was later recovered. A forensic examination of evidence recovered from the crime scene and the stolen truck revealed a match for Delgado.

Despite the arrest, an accomplice in the crime remains at large. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist in bringing the case to a complete resolution. The arrest of Delgado is a significant step forward in the quest for justice, but there is still more work to be done in bringing all those responsible to account for their actions.
