Arrest Made in Fatal Tuscaloosa Shooting: Capital Murder Suspect Apprehended

Tuscaloosa, AL – Authorities have apprehended a suspect in connection with a tragic shooting incident that claimed the life of one individual and left three others wounded on Sunday morning. Captain Jack Kennedy of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit identified the deceased victim as Donavin Ryans, 30, who succumbed to injuries sustained during the shooting in the 1300 block of 58th Street just outside Tuscaloosa city limits.

Kennedy revealed that after thorough investigations and witness interviews, 22-year-old Gredrick Agnew was identified as the primary suspect in the case. According to Kennedy, the shooting transpired when Agnew allegedly fired into a residence, hitting the victims inside after being asked to leave a small gathering.

Following the identification of Agnew as the suspect, authorities obtained arrest warrants for capital murder, citing the alleged killing of Ryans and the serious charge of firing into an occupied dwelling. After the shooting, Agnew fled the scene prompting a search initiated by investigators, with the assistance of the U.S. Marshall’s Task Force, spanning across various counties.
