Altercation Escalates with Knife and Gun Threats in Manassas Home – Second Arrest Made

Haymarket, Virginia – A Manassas resident, Jasmine Denisha Garcia, 36, was recently apprehended as the second individual arrested in connection with a disturbing incident that unfolded inside a Haymarket home. The incident involved a man being threatened with both a knife to his neck and a gun to his head.

The Prince William County Police Department responded to a call around 12:45 a.m on Feb. 12 at the 4300 block of Sudley Road. The call reported a group engaged in an altercation that quickly escalated. During the altercation, a 31-year-old woman was assaulted, and a 25-year-old man had a knife pressed against his neck before another individual brandished a gun and aimed it at his head. Thankfully, the victims were able to escape to a neighbor’s home to seek help and contact the authorities.

Following an initial investigation, Anthony Aguirre was arrested inside the residence and was discovered to be in possession of a gun and ammunition. Subsequently, arrest warrants were issued for Garcia and another individual, 33-year-old Eric Yovany Melara of Manassas, who remains at large. Garcia was taken into custody over the weekend and faces charges of two counts of assault by mob, as well as assault and battery. Meanwhile, Melara is still being sought as of Wednesday, March 13.
