Adam Montgomery defends evidence connecting him to daughter’s murder in NH court

DANVILLE, N.H. – A father from New Hampshire is facing evidence from prosecutors that he purchased chemicals and power tools allegedly used to conceal and dispose of his daughter’s body, who had been missing for more than two years. The 33-year-old is accused of orchestrating a horrific plot to hide the murder of his 5-year-old daughter, Harmony Montgomery.

According to defense filings, the accused father, Adam Montgomery, has sought to prevent the prosecution from presenting evidence that he bought lime, a diamond-edged blade, and a power grinder at two Home Depot stores. Prosecutors argue that these purchases are key circumstantial evidence connecting Montgomery to the disposal of his daughter’s remains near Boston.

Harmony’s stepmother told investigators that Montgomery believed the lime would aid in decomposing the body without detection. The family was reportedly homeless at the time of Harmony’s suspected murder, and after the killing, Montgomery allegedly kept his daughter’s remains in a cooler and duffle bag, moving them between temporary housing locations before finally disposing of them.

Montgomery is also facing charges of falsifying evidence, abuse of a corpse, and witness tampering. His trial for his daughter’s murder is scheduled to begin on Feb. 7. After Harmony was reported missing in 2021, it was later discovered that she had been unaccounted for since 2019. Despite the ongoing investigation, Harmony’s remains have not been found.

The case has sparked significant public outrage, and with new evidence and witness testimonies, the trial is expected to shed light on the disturbing details surrounding Harmony Montgomery’s tragic death. Still, the search for justice continues as the community grapples with the heartbreaking details of this heinous crime.
