Accidental Drowning Claims Life of 18-Year-Old in Spokane River

Otis Orchards, Washington – Tragedy struck in Otis Orchards as an 18-year-old man lost his life in a drowning incident in the Spokane River. The incident occurred on July 19, when several witnesses reported seeing a body floating down the river near North Starr Road and East River Road. Prompt action was taken by citizens at the scene who pulled the body out of the water and initiated CPR before first responders arrived.

Multiple agencies, including Liberty Lake Police, Spokane Valley Fire, AMR, and Kootenai County Fire, responded to the scene to assist in the life-saving efforts. Despite their best efforts and the dispatch of an air ambulance, the victim was pronounced dead.
