Woman Killed, Three Wounded After Bar Parking Lot Fight

Police said one woman died and three others were hurt after shots were fired in a Parks Township parking lot.

PARKS TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A Vandergrift man was in custody Monday after state police said he opened fire during a parking lot fight outside an Armstrong County bar, killing one woman and injuring three other people.

The shooting happened shortly after 1:15 a.m. Sunday outside Niki’s Quick Six on First Street. Pennsylvania State Police identified the suspect as David Dunmire, 36. Investigators said Dunmire stayed at the scene after the shooting and was arrested without incident.

The Armstrong County Coroner’s Office identified the woman who died as Jessica Hilliard, 34, of Apollo. Hilliard was pronounced dead at the scene. State police said Rebecca Boston, 24, of McIntyre, was found wounded at the bar and was last listed in critical condition. Hector Saballos, 34, and Dominik Dellach, 25, both of Vandergrift, left before troopers arrived and were later listed in stable condition.

Troopers said the case began as a report of shots fired. A local officer reached the scene first and found Hilliard dead and others wounded. Police said the shooting followed a physical altercation in the parking lot, where Dunmire allegedly produced a firearm and fired multiple rounds into the group.

Armstrong County District Attorney Katie Charlton approved a criminal homicide charge after reviewing the initial investigation with state police. Authorities have not released a detailed motive, and it was not immediately clear Monday whether additional charges would be filed. Police said the investigation is continuing.

The shooting drew concern from people living near the bar. Nelson Lubik, who lives across the street, said he heard several shots around the 1 a.m. hour and saw people running from the area. He said he had worried for years that trouble near the business could turn violent.

Police have not announced the next public briefing or released a full timeline of the fight, the shots or the arrest. The case now moves through Armstrong County’s criminal justice system as investigators continue gathering statements and evidence.
