Witnesses Sought for Fatal Weekend Collisions in York Region

King, Ontario – A tragic weekend on the roads of York Region has left two individuals dead and several others with serious injuries, drawing attention to ongoing concerns about traffic safety.

On Friday evening at approximately 7:50 p.m., York Regional Police responded to a serious collision in King involving a Ford F-150 and a Honda Pilot at the intersection of 8th Concession and 15th Sideroad. Two occupants of the pickup truck were critically injured and taken to a trauma center. The driver of the Honda remains in life-threatening condition, according to authorities.

The following day, a motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries in Vaughan after a collision with a transit bus around 12:56 p.m. at the intersection of Jane Street and Ahmadiyya Avenue. An off-duty nurse who witnessed the incident attempted to provide aid, but the rider passed away while being transported to a hospital.

On Sunday at 2:16 p.m., a collision occurred in King at Jane Street and 16th Sideroad involving a Volkswagen SUV and a BMW SUV. A 93-year-old passenger from the Volkswagen suffered severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The 95-year-old driver was critically injured and taken to a trauma center, while the five occupants of the BMW sustained various injuries and were also transported to a local hospital.
