University Student Arrested on Murder Charges After 2 Found Dead in Colorado College Dorm

Authorities in Colorado Springs, Colorado have made an arrest in connection with a double homicide that occurred in a dorm room at the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs. On Friday, the bodies of two individuals were found shot dead in the dormitory, leading to a campus-wide lockdown. The suspect, Nicholas Jordan, a 25-year-old student at the university at the time of the shooting, was arrested on two counts of first-degree murder.

The victims have been identified as Celie Rain Montgomery, 26, and Samuel Knopp, 24, with the former having no current enrollment status at the university. The incident is believed to have been an isolated one involving individuals who knew each other, rather than a random attack on the university. Both victims sustained at least one gunshot wound, according to police reports.

Following the arrest of Jordan, no information has been made available regarding legal representation, court records, or upcoming hearings, regarding the case.

The shooting led to an immediate campus lockdown and the closure of the university for the day and weekend. Walk-in counseling has been offered to students, and Monday classes were canceled. A memorial walk was held at the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs, attended by many, as the campus mourned the loss of the two individuals.

It remains unclear whether Jordan has retained legal counsel to represent him. Additionally, there has been no schedule of court hearings, and preliminary court records are not yet accessible.
