Two Bodies Found Inside Auction Minivan At Harris County Shop

The damaged vehicle was delivered to an Aldine-area shop before workers reported a foul odor.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — Harris County homicide detectives are tracing a wrecked minivan’s route after two men were found dead inside it Saturday morning at an auto body shop on Reeveston Road.

The Sheriff’s Office said deputies and EMS responded to the 13600 block of Reeveston Road after a caller reported two bodies inside a vehicle. The men were found in the back of the minivan. Officials said their identities and causes of death were not immediately known.

Investigators said the minivan had been bought at an auction outside Harris County and delivered to the Aldine-area business for repairs. The vehicle arrived Friday afternoon by tow or transport truck. It was heavily damaged and could not be driven, according to sheriff’s officials.

Workers later noticed a strong odor from the vehicle and found the bodies, officials said. Homicide detectives spoke with witnesses at the shop while crime scene investigators examined the van and the surrounding property. Authorities did not release the name of the business or the auction site.

The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences took custody of the bodies for autopsies. Those exams are expected to help determine how the men died and whether the deaths are homicides, accidents or another manner. Investigators had not released ages, descriptions or suspected timelines for the deaths.

A major focus for detectives is the transport driver who dropped off the van. Officials said they want to know where the vehicle was before it reached the shop, when it was last inspected and how the men ended up inside. Records tied to the sale and delivery may help build that timeline.

The discovery drew deputies, crime scene staff and medical examiner personnel to a business corridor near West Hardy Road. The area includes repair shops, storage yards and industrial properties where vehicles are often moved by tow trucks and carriers.

As of Tuesday, authorities had not announced arrests, suspects or charges. The next major steps are autopsy findings, formal identification of the men and completion of the vehicle’s ownership and transport timeline.
