Tri-Cities Photographer Lost in Climbing Tragedy

RICHARDSON, WA – The tranquil peaks of the North Cascades were a familiar backdrop for Ross James Wollette, an accomplished photographer and climbing guide. Yet, on a fateful day in August, the rugged beauty of Mount Fury turned perilous, claiming the life of the 43-year-old adventurer.

Wollette, who had built a career capturing the splendor of nature and guiding climbers through Washington’s challenging terrains, tragically fell when a rock he was holding broke loose. His father, Roland Ross Wallett, struggles with the harsh reality of his son’s absence, describing it as an unending dream from which he cannot awaken.

Ross’s passion for his craft was evident in every endeavor. He had collaborated with global brands and documented treasured moments, always driven by an unwavering commitment to excellence. “He gave his best in everything,” his father recalls with pride.
