Tragic Murder-Suicide Leaves Three Dead in Weirton, West Virginia

PITTSBURGH (AP) – A tragic incident unfolded in Weirton, West Virginia, resulting in three fatalities and one person sustaining injuries in a suspected murder-suicide. The Weirton Police Department responded to a call reporting a shooting at a residence on Miami Avenue around 12:20 a.m. on Saturday.

Upon arriving at the scene, authorities discovered the lifeless bodies of 25-year-old Jordan Bettino and 26-year-old Zoe Antoniou, both victims of fatal gunshot wounds. Additionally, 30-year-old Desiree McDiffitt was rushed to a local hospital with gunshot injuries, believed to be in stable condition. The alleged perpetrator, 33-year-old Brennan Bailey, was found deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Weirton Police Chief Charlie Kush revealed that the victims included two sisters, with Bailey identified as the partner of one of them. The presence of children in the home during the shooting raised concerns, but fortunately, they were unharmed and are now in a safe location.

An ongoing investigation is currently underway, with authorities actively seeking a motive for the violent act. Police are in communication with family members and acquaintances, hoping to gather more information from McDiffitt, who was transferred to a hospital in Pittsburgh post-incident.
