Tragedy Strikes Arlington Heights: Identified Victims of Murder-Suicide Found in Utility Room

Arlington Heights, Illinois — Authorities have identified two men found dead in a utility room at a condominium complex, a case now being investigated as a murder-suicide. Police discovered the bodies following a 911 call that reported unconscious individuals at the Dana Point Condominiums on East Central Road.

Upon arrival around 4:30 p.m. Friday, responders from the police and fire departments located the men, both of whom had sustained traumatic injuries and were unresponsive. Medical personnel determined that they were beyond any medical aid.

The deceased have been identified as 53-year-old Juan Medina and Steven M. Weigenensberg, whose age has not been disclosed. According to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office, Weigenensberg’s death has been classified as a homicide, while Medina’s death has been deemed a suicide.
