Teens Involved in Violent Assault and Standoff Identified and Charged

Chehalis, Washington – Two teenage boys were apprehended after a seven-hour stand-off in Chehalis, suspected of being involved in a violent attack on a man in the same area on March 1. Micah Elijah Nobach and Roberto Tomas Romero Bower have been identified as the culprits and are facing charges of first-degree assault with accomplice liability in Lewis County Superior Court. Both individuals are being charged as adults for their alleged role in the assault that left the victim severely injured.

The charges state that Nobach and Bower played a significant role in the attack, displaying deliberate cruelty towards the victim during the incident, according to court documents. Bower was charged on March 25, with a warrant for his arrest issued the same day. Nobach, on the other hand, was charged on April 2. Bail for both individuals was set at $1 million each and Judge Joely Yeager emphasized the potential threat they pose to community safety.

In addition to Nobach and Bower, two other individuals, Jamal George West and Aiden Riley Smith, are also facing charges related to the same assault incident. Surveillance footage of the attack shows the suspects participating in various violent acts against the victim, resulting in severe injuries. The victim was admitted to Capital Medical Center for treatment of his injuries, including lacerations, a hemorrhage, broken teeth, and strangulation.

West has pleaded not guilty, while Nobach, Bower, and Smith are scheduled for arraignment hearings in the coming days. The involvement of a juvenile defendant in the case has also been reported, although court records related to juvenile cases are not public in Washington state. The seriousness of the charges led Judge Yeager to order Bower to be held in the Lewis County Jail alongside adult offenders.

Apart from the assault charges, Bower is also facing unrelated charges in juvenile court related to a separate dispute that led to the stand-off with law enforcement on April 1. The stand-off was initially prompted by reports of a firearm dispute, resulting in Bower’s arrest on additional assault charges. Nobach, who was inside the residence during the stand-off, eventually surrendered along with three other individuals without any reported injuries.

Another individual, Larisa Boyd, was also arrested after the stand-off and charged with rendering criminal assistance. Boyd allegedly misled law enforcement about the presence of the wanted subjects in the residence, leading to a delay in their surrender. The incident was resolved after several hours, with Boyd’s bail set at $10,000 for her involvement. Arraignment for Boyd is scheduled for the upcoming week.
