Tamarac, Florida – A community is left in shock following a tragic triple murder in a Tamarac neighborhood. Nathan Gingles, 43, now faces multiple charges, including three counts of first-degree murder, kidnapping, child abuse, child neglect, burglary, and interference with custody, as reported by Broward Sheriff’s Office officials.
The victims of this senseless act of violence were 34-year-old Mary Gingles, her father, 64-year-old David Ponzer, and their neighbor, 36-year-old Andrew Ferrin. The heartbreaking incident unfolded on a Sunday morning when Nathan Gingles allegedly went on a shooting spree, targeting his estranged wife, her father, and an innocent neighbor.
According to details provided in an arrest warrant, the horrific events began with the fatal shooting of David Ponzer on his daughter’s home patio. Nathan Gingles then reportedly pursued Mary Gingles to a neighbor’s house, where he fatally shot her and Andrew Ferrin in front of the couple’s 4-year-old daughter.
In a heartbreaking interview, Frank Ponzer, the father of David Ponzer, expressed the deep devastation that has swept through their family. The pain of losing his brother and niece in such a cowardly manner has left him unable to find solace or rest.
Court records revealed a history of domestic violence between Mary and Nathan Gingles, with Mary going as far as obtaining two domestic violence injunctions against him due to threats on her life. Despite efforts to protect herself and her family, the tragic outcome could not be prevented.
Following the killings, an Amber Alert was issued for Nathan Gingles’ daughter, who was thankfully found unharmed and safely taken into foster care. Nathan Gingles remains in custody without bond, with a court ordering no contact with his daughter. Plans are being made for the aunt to seek custody of the young girl as the community grapples with the aftermath of this devastating event.
