COLUMBUS, Ohio – A 36-year-old man, Arthur Scott Jr., faces charges of aggravated murder, aggravated burglary, kidnapping, rape, and strangulation in connection with the death of 61-year-old Li-Chu Lin following a brutal attack at a north Columbus hotel.

According to court documents, officers from the Columbus Division of Police responded to a report of a deceased woman at the Double Ten Hotel on April 26. They discovered Lin with injuries from the attack. Surveillance footage from the hotel allegedly shows Scott checking for unlocked doors before entering a room where Lin also entered. Subsequently, Scott was seen leaving the room at a later time.

Upon investigation, Lin was found unclothed with apparent physical injuries, indicating other criminal activities had taken place. Scott was later apprehended near the hotel and allegedly confessed to committing the murder and other crimes while being interrogated.

The Franklin County grand jury indictment also noted Scott’s history as a repeated violent offender, referencing a previous criminal case. Scott appeared in municipal court last month, where a $2 million bond was set, ahead of his upcoming appearance in Franklin County Court of Common Pleas.

The tragic incident has shocked the community and raised concerns about safety and security in the area. Authorities are urged to take stricter measures to prevent similar crimes from occurring in the future.

As the legal proceedings unfold, family, friends, and members of the community mourn the loss of Li-Chu Lin and seek justice for the alleged perpetrator, Arthur Scott Jr. The outcome of the trial will be closely monitored by those affected by this senseless act of violence.
