Surfer’s Girlfriend Mourns “Shattered” Loss in Mexico Tragedy

Ensenada, Mexico – The heartbroken girlfriend of one of the Australian surfer brothers tragically killed during a botched robbery in Mexico last month has spoken out for the first time since their bodies were identified. San Diego resident Emily Horwath mourned the loss of her boyfriend Callum Robinson, 33, and his brother Jake, 30, along with their friend Jack Carter Rhoad, 30, who were all murdered and dumped in a 50-foot well in Baja California, Mexico.

Horwath shared photos and videos of the brothers on Instagram, expressing her heartbreak and devastation over the senseless tragedy. She posted images of the brothers embracing and kissing, capturing the depth of their bond and the love they shared. Additionally, she shared memories of the brothers, depicting their playful and affectionate moments together.

In a series of heartbreaking posts, Horwath also revealed a voicemail message Callum had left her, showcasing his positive and loving nature. She expressed her grief over their loss and the immense pain of their untimely deaths. Furthermore, she initiated a GoFundMe campaign that raised nearly $160,000 to support the families of the two brothers who lost their lives in the tragic incident.

Authorities in Mexico have identified and arrested suspects in connection to the murders but have not yet filed murder charges. Chief state prosecutor Maria Elena Andrade Ramirez provided details of the incident, explaining how the assailants targeted the surfers in a violent confrontation that resulted in their deaths. The bodies of the victims were discovered last week, confirming the tragic outcome of their ill-fated surf trip.

The suspects allegedly attempted to steal the surfers’ vehicle before fatally shooting them and disposing of their bodies in a well. The motive behind the attack remains unclear, but investigations are ongoing to bring those responsible to justice. The community has rallied behind the families of the victims, offering support and solidarity during this difficult time of mourning and seeking answers in the wake of the tragedy.
