Lakeside, California — A man was taken into custody over the weekend following an altercation on a freeway that escalated into a stabbing incident, law enforcement officials reported on Tuesday.
The suspect, identified as Noah Kane, was driving a black 2024 Ford F-150 when he forced a gray 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee off the roadway around 6:15 p.m. Friday evening on the northbound side of state Route 67, located just north of Slaughterhouse Canyon Road.
After both vehicles came to a stop, the situation quickly deteriorated. Officials from the California Highway Patrol indicated that Kane exited his vehicle armed with a knife, subsequently stabbing the other driver multiple times in the shoulder area.
In the aftermath of the attack, Kane fled the scene in his truck. Meanwhile, the victim, whose age and identity have not been disclosed, remained at the location until emergency services arrived. He was transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where he is being treated for injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
Kane was apprehended early Saturday morning at approximately 1:45 a.m. in Poway by the California Highway Patrol’s Border Division Major Crimes Unit. He has since been booked into San Diego County Jail, although authorities have not yet released further details regarding his age or background.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing as officials work to piece together the events that led to the violent confrontation. Authorities are asking anyone who may have witnessed the altercation or has any additional information to reach out to the California Highway Patrol at 858-944-6300.
This incident highlights ongoing concerns about road rage and related incidents that can escalate quickly, prompting law enforcement to remind drivers to remain calm and steer clear of confrontation. As investigations continue, communities are urged to report any aggressive behavior on the roads to help prevent further violence.
