SAN ANTONIO — A festive gathering turned chaotic in the early hours of Christmas morning, leaving a father and son hospitalized due to violent confrontations with neighbors. The incident took place on Castle Hunt Drive, where tensions quickly escalated during what was meant to be a joyful celebration.
According to local authorities, the trouble began when one neighbor confronted another over allegations of car part theft. Alexis Tobias, one of the victims, described the scene in front of his family home, pointing out blood stains that remained after the altercation. “My dad confronted him about stealing parts from our car. He was aggressive, and things got heated,” Tobias recounted.
As the confrontation intensified, the initial neighbor left but returned shortly after with several others, leading to a violent encounter. “Unfortunately, my dad got cut in his chest and hit in the head with a metal bat. He has significant swelling and needed seven stitches,” Tobias said.
In a bid to defend his father, Alexis himself was hurt during the fray. “I was struck in the face with the bat too, but I didn’t lose consciousness,” he explained. Both he and his father faced extensive medical treatment following the assault.
Witnesses reported seeing the attackers fleeing the scene in a gray SUV, leaving behind a trail of chaos. The Tobias family now faces an uncertain recovery, coupled with the emotional aftermath of the incident. Both victims were treated and are expected to recover from their injuries.
In the wake of the attack, the family’s vehicle bore evidence of the confrontation, including handprints left by the assailants. “We’re just letting the detectives do their work. We haven’t touched anything,” Alexis noted, emphasizing their hope for justice.
San Antonio police are continuing their investigation, seeking to identify and apprehend those responsible. As of now, no arrests have been made. The community remains on edge as residents grapple with the violent outbreak during what was supposed to be a holiday filled with goodwill and celebration.
