Shooting Victim Identified: Dayton Man Dead After Home Invasion

Dayton, Ohio – A man, identified as 29-year-old Tommie Lee Shreck, was found dead inside a home on West Norman Avenue after a shooting incident on Wednesday. The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office confirmed his identity on Thursday following reports from the scene.

According to Sgt. Creigee Coleman of the Dayton Police Department, officers responded to a call about shots fired around 3 p.m. When they arrived, they discovered Shreck’s body inside the residence. An anonymous neighbor, referred to as “D,” witnessed the police presence and shared details of the incident. “D” mentioned that a father and son lived at the residence, and the son recounted to her that an intruder had broken in and ended up in his father’s bed before the shooting occurred.

In a 911 call, it was revealed that someone had been shot in the kitchen and was in critical condition. The neighbor believed the father was acting in self-defense, protecting his family in response to a perceived threat.
