Houston, Texas – A tragic incident unfolded in northwest Houston, resulting in the death of a man and a woman, with another man sustaining injuries during a parking lot takeover. The shooting, believed to be targeted at his ex-girlfriend and her new partner, occurred around 9:23 p.m. in a parking lot near a King Dollar store on Northwest Freeway.
According to authorities from the Houston Police Department, the ex-boyfriend arrived at the unsanctioned parking lot event and confronted his former girlfriend with her new partner. Following a heated altercation, the ex-boyfriend proceeded to shoot the woman multiple times before targeting the man, chasing him through the parking lot and shooting him in the back.
Subsequently, the shooter returned to the ex-girlfriend, firing several more shots before turning the gun on himself. Tragically, both the shooter and the woman succumbed to their injuries at the scene. A deputy from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, who was alerted to the situation prior to HPD’s arrival, provided aid to the wounded man and ensured his transport to a nearby hospital. Fortunately, the man is expected to survive his injuries.
HPD has refrained from disclosing the identities of those involved; however, they confirmed that the shooter was a 26-year-old man, while the two victims were believed to be in their twenties. The incident serves as a grim reminder of the dangers of domestic disputes and the need for preventive measures to be taken to avoid such tragic outcomes in the future.
