HOUSTON – A young suspect has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a smoke shop owner during an alleged robbery in northwest Houston last weekend. The incident unfolded at the Daze Elevated smoke shop on North Houston Rosslyn Road, where the victim, identified as Fernando Gallardo, was found dead.
Authorities have charged 21-year-old Adan Gracia with capital murder. Court documents detail the circumstances surrounding the tragic event, indicating that Gallardo was shot during an apparent robbery attempt.
On Saturday, an employee noticed the smoke shop’s “open” sign illuminated during unusual hours, raising concern as the owner’s vehicle was absent. As the investigation progressed, officers located Gallardo’s vehicle and initiated a felony stop on a driver who matched the description of someone seen in surveillance footage near the smoke shop at the time of the incident. This lead ultimately connected Gracia to the crime, resulting in his arrest.
