Shooting Rampage at Delaware County Linen: Man Charged with Murder and Assault in Chester Incident

CHESTER, Pa. – A tragic shooting incident unfolded at Delaware County Linen in Chester, Pennsylvania, leaving two people dead and three others wounded. The suspect, identified as Wilbert Rosado-Ruiz, a 61-year-old employee at the company, has been charged with first-degree murder, third-degree murder, and other offenses.

Authorities reported that the shooting occurred on Wednesday morning, with Rosado-Ruiz entering the building and targeting his victims, starting with a dispute with a female colleague. The violent act took place following complaints about Rosado-Ruiz’s behavior the day before the shooting.

After fatally shooting two brother employees, Giguenson Peña Peña and Leovanny Peña Peña, both from the Dominican Republic, Rosado-Ruiz attempted to target the female colleague once again, but his gun malfunctioned or ran out of ammunition. He then fled the scene in a vehicle, only to be apprehended shortly after by law enforcement in nearby Trainer, Pennsylvania.

Delaware County authorities expressed deep sorrow over the incident, highlighting the lack of training for active shooter emergencies in workplaces like the linen company. The district attorney described the shooting as a cold-blooded act of violence, captured on surveillance cameras inside the facility.

Witnesses recounted chaotic scenes of people fleeing for their lives from the building, emphasizing the need for emergency preparedness in such situations. Chester city councilwoman Tameka Gibson visited the site to offer support and resources to cope with the grief and trauma inflicted by the shooting.

While the company did not respond to requests for comment, neighbors and community members expressed shock and disbelief over the tragic events that unfolded at Delaware County Linen. The impact of the shooting has left many struggling to come to terms with the loss and devastation caused by the senseless act of violence.
