Shooting Outside Arlington Gentlemen’s Club Linked to Argument: Man Dead, Another In Hospital

Arlington, Texas – The streets outside a gentlemen’s club in Arlington, Texas, turned deadly when a man was shot and killed after an altercation between his friend and the suspected shooter. Police responded to a shooting call around 1:15 a.m. on Saturday at the 2700 block of Majesty Drive, where they found two men with gunshot wounds near the club’s parking lot.

Tragically, one of the men, identified as 30-year-old Abel Alberto Rodriguez, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other man, described only as 40 years old, was rushed to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to recover.

Investigators believe the altercation began when the 40-year-old confronted the suspected shooter inside the club, an incident stemming from a previous conflict. As the argument escalated outside the club, Rodriguez arrived and got involved, leading to the fatal shots being fired.

Arlington police stated in a news release that they have not ruled out the possibility that the shooting was done in self-defense. After consultation with the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office, no criminal charges have been filed against the suspected shooter at this time, and he has been released without arrest.

The details surrounding the incident remain limited, and authorities have not provided any further information. The tragic event serves as a reminder of the potential dangers associated with altercations and conflicts, particularly in public settings. The impact of such violence reverberates throughout the community, leaving loved ones grieving and seeking justice for the senseless loss of life.
