Authorities confirm that 38-year-old Anthony Deschepper, who reportedly fled the scene with a one-year-old child, was fatally shot during an interaction with police at a gas station.
The incident began unfolding Tuesday afternoon when officers responded to reports of a shooting at a strip mall parking lot near Queen Street East and Airport Road in Brampton. Upon arrival, they discovered the woman suffering from severe gunshot wounds; she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police later identified Deschepper as the primary suspect in this homicide. He was last seen driving a black 2024 Nissan Kicks bearing a Quebec license plate, with the one-year-old child in the back seat. A subsequent Amber Alert triggered a wide community search for the vehicle and its occupant.
