Shooting Investigation Launched After 19-Year-Old Found Dead in Bullet-Riddled Car on Eastex Freeway

Houston, Texas – Authorities are currently investigating a tragic incident where a 19-year-old individual was discovered deceased inside a vehicle with numerous bullet holes on the Eastex Freeway feeder road on Monday morning, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the scene at the 12900 block of the northbound feeder road at the intersection of Lauder Road and the Eastex Freeway around 9:15 a.m. The victim, identified as 19-year-old Jusnz Joseph, was found with multiple gunshot wounds in the driver’s seat of the car.

An update from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office revealed that the incident was a result of a drive-by shooting. Officials stated that an individual in a dark-colored SUV or crossover vehicle approached the victim’s car at the intersection with Lauder Road, fired multiple shots, and then fled the scene.

Aerial footage from ABC13’s SkyEye captured the scene where authorities were examining the red-colored Cadillac located in the roadway. The vehicle showed evidence of bullet holes in the front and back windshields, as well as along the roof above the back rear window, which had been shattered.

Officials have not provided a description of the suspects involved and have not disclosed whether there is a connection between the victim and the perpetrators. Sgt. Jason Brown of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office mentioned that they are reviewing video footage of the shooting to gather more information.

It is unclear at this time if the incident was related to road rage, but authorities are reviewing footage to determine the motive behind the shooting. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Houston’s Crime Stoppers or the sheriff’s office to assist in the investigation.
