YAKIMA, Wash. – The Yakima Police Department is currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred at the intersection of East Nob Hill Boulevard and South 1st Street on Monday. Officers were dispatched to the scene in response to reports of gunfire, where they discovered a car crash along with several spent handgun casings.
According to Yvette Inzunza of the YPD, preliminary findings suggest that the altercation involved two vehicles, with one chasing the other along Nob Hill Boulevard. The leading vehicle collided with a curb, rendering it immobile in the middle of the roadway. Subsequently, the driver of this vehicle reportedly exited and fired shots at the pursuing car, which managed to flee the scene and evade law enforcement.
The suspected shooter managed to evade capture by fleeing over a brick wall and remains at large. Fortunately, there have been no reported injuries stemming from the incident. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing as authorities work to uncover more details surrounding the events that transpired at the intersection.
