Shooting in Edgewater Claims Two Lives, Leaves One Injured in Late-Night Attack

Chicago, Illinois — A late-night drive-by shooting in the Edgewater neighborhood left two men dead and another injured, leaving the community grappling with the impact of yet another violent incident. The shooting occurred around 1:30 a.m. near the Porkchop BBQ restaurant, located in the 6300 block of North Broadway.

According to police reports, officers arrived at the scene after receiving a call about multiple gunshot victims. They discovered three men on the sidewalk, all suffering from various gunshot wounds. Investigators stated that the victims were unable to provide details about the shooting, which appeared to happen suddenly as a vehicle passed by.

One of the deceased, a 28-year-old man, sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to St. Francis Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Another victim, a 31-year-old man, was shot in the chest and was pronounced dead at Weiss Memorial Hospital. A third individual, a 36-year-old man, was shot in the back and reported to be in fair condition after being taken to Evanston Hospital.

In the aftermath of the shooting, Broadway was closed for an investigation but has since reopened to traffic. Authorities have been reviewing footage from city surveillance cameras, which captured the suspect’s vehicle, believed to be stolen, during the incident.

As of Saturday, no arrests had been made, and detectives from Area Three continue to investigate the case. The lack of immediate apprehension has intensified concerns among local residents about safety and the rising trend of gun violence in the area.
